Sermon Notes:
1. Some important tips as you read the O.T. prophets…
• The Prophets were “police officers” of the covenant with God.
• In the Prophetic writing less than 2% Messianic, 5% about the new covenant age and 1% concerns events yet to come.
• Most O.T. Prophets wrote between 160-460 B.C. a time of war, exile and societal upheaval.
2. Famous but timely words from:
• Isaiah 43:18-19
18 "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”
• Isaiah 49: 15-16
15 "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! 16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”
